Yamaha bring their new SC3 Silent System to their acclaimed U1J series Upright Piano!
SILENT pianos are genuine acoustic pianos which are equipped with Yamaha’s advanced silencing technology. When the keys are played in SILENT Mode, the hammers are stopped immediately before striking the strings. So, the piano itself generates no sound! Sensors installed below the keys decipher how the keys are played and relay the data to the digital tone generator, which generates sampled sounds that can be heard through a pair of headphones. By allowing players to play a true acoustic piano sound under normal circumstances, or to put on headphones and play in SILENT Mode to avoid disturbing others, SILENT Piano™ makes any time a good time to sit down at the piano.
Partnered with the U1J this pairing creates the perfect piano for an environment where you want all the feel, looks & romance of a “real” piano but with the ability to play any time of the day or night without disturbing anyone. Of course, it still functions as a traditional piano when you want it to!
The design of the U1J is based on Yamaha’s acclaimed U Series acoustic upright piano range. The result is the perfect piano for homes and schools alike. Incorporating many of the professional features of the U Series while remaining affordable, the UJ1 is an outstanding quality musical instrument.
