Whether you play chunk rhythm, fingerstyle, or bottleneck slide, you’ll love the all-mahogany Gretsch G9240 Alligator Biscuit Round-neck resonator guitar. With deluxe appointments, the Gretsch G9240 Resonator projects its distinctively swampy tone all the way to the back door of any dancehall.

Resonator guitars are truly a uniquely American innovation. They were first developed in the 1920s to accompany the much-louder horn instruments in popular ensembles of the time. Remember, there weren’t any amplifiers back then!

Like all fine Gretsch resonator guitars, the vital feature of the G9240 is the Gretsch “Ampli-Sonic™” diaphragm (resonator cone). Hand-spun in Eastern Europe from nearly 99-percent pure aluminum, the Ampli-Sonic diaphragm yields an impressive quality and volume of tone.
