The EVH Wolfgang Special QM boasts a basswood body topped with arched quilt maple. It features a bolt-on quartersawn baked maple neck, reinforced with graphite for added stability. EVH carved and rolled the neck to match Eddie Van Halen’s exact specifications. A hand-rubbed satin urethane finish on the back adds comfort and smooth playability.
Next, the 12”-16” compound radius baked maple fingerboard supports fast, precise playing. It includes 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays for clear navigation. Need quick neck adjustments? A spoke wheel at the base of the neck makes it easy. For powerful tone, it features two custom-designed EVH® Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking pickups. These pickups mount directly to the body for increased resonance and endless sustain. They deliver articulate voicing, great for dynamic riffs and soaring melodies.
Moreover, the EVH-branded Floyd Rose® locking trem ensures rock-solid tuning during extreme pitch shifts. Paired with the Floyd Rose locking nut, it handles aggressive tremolo use with ease. Need to switch tunings fast? The EVH D-Tuna® shifts to drop-D instantly and back again. The volume knob features a treble bleed circuit with a 500K EVH Bourns® low-friction pot. It allows smooth swells without losing high-end clarity. The tone knob includes a 250K Bourns high-friction pot to prevent accidental tone changes.
