The Washburn USA Custom Shop has built 135 Limited Edition acoustics to celebrate their 135th Anniversary. These 135 guitars are serialized starting from year 1883 & finish at 2018. We were extremely fortunate to secure one of these collectable instruments here at Piper’s Wollongong Music Centre! The magnificent guitar that we have available bears Serial # 1968.
Washburn Revival Solo D-135 135th Anniversary Limited Edition Acoustic Guitar
This historically accurate RSD135 acoustic guitar is made in the USA at Washburn’s Custom Shop to match the original size and shape from their 1937 #5244/#5246 Solo Dreadnought. The limited edition all-solid Revival Series Solo D135 is loud and rich, featuring a solid Sitka spruce soundboard braced with scalloped-X high-alpine European spruce, and is paired with solid African mahogany back & sides. The classic Washburn “smile” bridge, Revival ’30s style headstock & faux-tortoise pickguard are inspired by the original 1937 models. Playability is enhanced by modern “C” shaped neck & Graph Tech “Ratio-Tuned” open-back tuners with butter-bean knobs.
1 of only 135 USA Custom Shop made, limited edition Dreadnoughts based on Washburn’s 1937 #5244/#5246 shape.
135 year anniversary models, each unique and rare, are serialized beginning 1883 and ending with year 2018.
Washburn Certificate of Authenticity and History Book included.
Inspired by the simple styling of the 1930’s, the D135 features an understated “Smile” bridge, Faux-Tortoise pickguard and “Crown” headstock.
Modern playability: with it’s neutral-C shaped neck and GraphTech Ratio tuned open-back tuners, the D135 will feel immediately comfortable in the hands of today’s acoustic guitar player.
